The Dr B.R Ambedkar MEdical College was established by the Ananda Social and Educational Trust.
Infrastructure and Facilities:
The college has a central library enriched with a large collection of medical books and journals. Apart from the central library, every department of the college has a separate library that stores books according to the syllabus and curriculum.
The library has other facilities like photocopying, scanning and a book bank.
The college runs separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. The hostel rooms are spacious and have a common TV room and reading room in each hostel. The hostels are secure and safe at all times.
The college lays emphasis on the all round development of students and therefore encourages sports and cultural activities in the campus. The campus has a spacious playground for all multi purpose sports activities.
A sports committee has been formed to spearhead all the sports activities in the campus. A number of students have represented the college in inter college meets both in the state and national level.
Every year a literary work is published which showcases articles written by the college students and faculty members.
The college runs its own network of buses making it convenient for students to travel to and from college. The buses are also used by the students to attend various clinical trial and training camps.
