About college

The SDM Pre University college is located at Vidyagiri Dharwad. The panoramic view from the college is an encouraging scene for all.

The college had a humble beginning in the year 2000. It was started as a science college initially but gradually successfully added the commerce stream in the year 2010.

The exemplary PUC results every year, has placed it in the Dharwad best PU colleges list.

Infrastructure
The college building caters to all the needs of students. From extracurricular activities, sports and academics, the campus functions as a single unit.

SDM PU College is easily accessible with bus stands nearby the campus. The well-maintained garden and tree-lined campus beautifies the place and makes it attractive for students to study. The classrooms are big allowing natural light to pass throughout the day. 

The campus is self-sufficient and has an in-campus bank, post office and health clinic for the convenience of students.

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls with all safety measures in place. The warden supervises the movement of students at all times. The hostel has food, laundry and recreation facilities for all students. 

The college has 6 well-equipped laboratories as part of the science course.  Students can access the labs under the supervision of the designated teacher.

SDM PU College Dharwad has a big library which has a vast selection of books, journals, magazines and reference material. The college encourages the donation of books to its library from its alumni and other philanthropists.

The college has sports facilities and motivates its students to participate in sports and cultural activities at all levels.

The college has received recognition from the Board of Pre-University Examinations for its exemplary performance in the 2nd puc board examinations conducted in 2005.

The Government of Karnataka has hailed SDM PU College Dharwad as an A grade college.
