The AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology is run and managed by the Laxmi Memorial Education Trust. Apart from the renowned Engineering and technology Institute, the Trust runs a number of other institutions like AJ Institute of Dental Sciences and Laxmi Memorial college of Nursing among others. In Mangalore it is considered as one of the top engineering colleges.
Infrastructure and Facilities:
The AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology has all the modern facilities and amenities. The learning atmosphere provided by the college is excellent. The students benefit from all the programs conducted by the college from time to time.
The language lab in the campus makes it possible for students to improve communication skills written and oral. The language lab has 20 computers for the benefit of students.
The Seminar Hall is full air conditioned with cushioned seating capacity for guest lecturers and cultural activities. The seminar halls are all equipped with audio visual aids.
The classrooms are all spacious and well ventilated. Each classroom is digitized which makes deliverance of lectures easy and more communicable.

The College also has a centralised computer centre. The computer centre was established in 2016 and has high speed internet facilities for the benefit of the students.
In order to bridge the gap between the institute and the industry, the college has started an IIP cell or the Industry Institute Partnership Cell. The cell was started with the purpose of meeting the post-graduation industrial needs.
