About college

The Vikas College of Physiotherapy is located in Maryhill Konchady Mangalore. The college is one of the premier institutions for physiotherapy in the city. 

Infrastructure and Facilities:
The Vikas College of physiotherapy has one of the best infrastructures and facilities in the city. The college has one of the best physiotherapy college libraries. Apart from academics. The college gives a lot of importance to sports and physical fitness of its students. Extracurricular activities are encouraged throughout the year. 

Vikas College of Physiotherapy also has an Out-patient department. Apart from the out-patient department, the college has collaborated with Veronica Vihar Old Age Home for regular physiotherapy sessions by students and teaching staff. The college has also collaborated with other centres across the country. 

The laboratories are well stocked and in accordance with the physiotherapy curriculum. The following laboratories and department are fully functional within the college campus.

-Electro Therapy Department
-Exercise therapy department
-Anatomy and Physiology Department

Apart from the above departments, students have access to a well-furnished, modern and up to date computer laboratory in order to keep themselves abreast with modern methods. 

-Classrooms are well furnished and equipped with gadgets for modern methods of teaching.
-Library-The library is large with a vast collection of books by Indian and foreign writers. Students have easy access to the library at all times. 
-Sports and physical Education-Sports and physical activities are encouraged within the campus. To this effect the college has facilities for indoor and out door games. 
-Transport- Vikas College of Physiotherapy has its own network of buses that ply throughout the length and breadth of the city making it convenient for students to attend classes in the campus. 

Course details

Academics:
The college has the following courses:

-Bachelor of Physiotherapy 4 years course with 6 months compulsory rotary internship. Candidates are selected based on merit. 
-Masters of Physiotherapy 2-year course. Speciality courses under the Masters programme are
-MPT in Musculoskeletal and sports
-MPT in Neurological and psychosomatic disorders
-MPT in paediatrics
-MPT in cardiopulmonary science
-MPT in community-based rehabilitation

Facilities

Vikaas College of Physiotherapy has a well equipped OPD for the students. Daily around 40 patients will be benefitted. College is collaborated with Veronica Vihar Old age home where regular physiotherapy will be given by faculty and students of Physiotherapy. 

The college has various well-equipped Laboratories with relevant apparatus such as Electro-Therapy Department to treat patients with disorders ranging from sports injuries to degenerative diseases, Exercise Therapy Department to treat Patients with problems concerning postural imbalance, gait disorders, Anatomy & Physiology Lab that enables students to pursue practical studies relevant to the curriculum

Abundant opportunities are provided at the Vikas College clinic having the latest physiotherapeutic technology, so as to form the students into professionally competent physiotherapists.

The classrooms are provided with latest equipment to train the theoretical aspects of the course to the students, to support the subjects and curriculum.

Vikas College of Physiotherapy has well-stocked library with books of Indian and foreign authors for Reference and study materials to the students. Journals, periodicals and magazines are also regularly subscribed. Students are provided access to e-journals and e-books.

The Sports club helps students to provide the means and resources to exercise their sporting preferences with outdoor and indoor game provisions.

The college owns a fleet of buses to ensure comfortable transportation for its students so as to pursue the course activities in a hassle free manner

Admission

Vikas Physiotherapy College Mangalore Admission Procedure:

Eligibility for BPT: Candidate must have pass in PUC (10+2) examination recognized by University/Board with English as one of the languages and physics, chemistry and biology as optional subjects with 40 % marks (35% -SC/ST/OBC to Karnataka students) in the aggregate of Biology Physics and chemistry.

Eligibility for MPT: Candidate must have pass in BPT examination and completion of 6 months internship from a recognized University with 50 % aggregate marks.
