Christ University, established in July 1969 as Christ College (Autonomous) affiliated to Bangalore University, has evolved into a premier educational institution in Bangalore. Recognized for its innovative curriculum, emphasis on academic discipline, and holistic education, it became the first institution in Karnataka to be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the UGC. In 2004, it was granted autonomy, and in 2008, it attained the status of a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
