St Berchmans College is the Archdiocese of Changanacherry's first higher education institution. Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, Bishop of Changanassery diocese, built this institution in 1922. It was founded with the noble goal of the Universal Catholic Church of moulding young men and women who will strive for excellence in all aspects of life and human service. Sections 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956 recognise the College.
