The Central Library has a large collection of books journals and magazines. The library has been fully digitalised to provide e access of books to students. The library has a separate website launched for the convenience of students. The library was established in 1960. The college also gives library access to institutions and industries located in and around Mangalore.
The college has a full fledged physical and sports education department. Both indoor and outdoor sports amenities are available in the college campus. The college has various sports teams that represent the college in various sports activities. The Following are the sports activities in NITK

There are about more than 120 laboratories on the campus in keeping with the syllabi and curriculum of the various departments.
The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. All classrooms are fitted with audio visual aids and other modern amenities.
There are four guest houses within the campus. These guest houses serve as residence facilities for guest lecturers and visitors to the campus.
The college has shopping centres for the students. The shopping complex include bakery, stationery, clothes, tailoring, salon, vegetables, laundry among other services. All these are for the convenience of students within the campus. The aim is to make the college campus self-sustaining.
The campus has two canteen and four cafeterias that serve hygienically clean and nutritious food.
NITK has an open-air theatre for student activities and programs.
National Institute of Technology Suratkal has two banks that function within the campus. Canara Bank and State bank of India. These banks have in campus ATM facilities.
There is a large auditorium with a seating capacity for over 1200 students. The Auditorium is used for multipurpose activities.
As the College is a residential college, the hostels are located within the campus. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels have all modern facilities for the convenance of students.
The central computing centre has largely contributed to the advancement of Information Technology for the institute. The Central Computing Centre provides IT solutions to the academic needs of the college.
Students seeking Admission to NITK is managed by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based on the scores obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE - Main) conducted by National Testing Agency.
JoSAA has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to various institutes.ÂÂ
The candidate must have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards are eligible to appear the JEE-Main and secure the admission.
For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Non Resident Indians or foreign student or Person of Indian origin- Admissions are managed by DASA-Direct Admission of Students Abroad.
