GFGC Carstreet Mangalore?was established by the Government of Karnataka at the request of the then MLA and Chairman of the College Development Committee, Mr. Yogesh Bhatt, for the purpose of realizing the dreams of higher education of economically disadvantaged students during the academic year 2007-08. Initially, temporary classes were started in the building of the Government College, Balmatta, and later in 2008, moved to Carstreet's own building. The institution, which had just 270 students in its inaugural year, reached 1,700 in just 10 years, with 1,285 students in 2016-17, 1,675 students in 2017-18, 2,151 students in 2018-19, and 2,435 students in 2019-20. Witnessed the arrival. They are successful in attracting students from within the district and neighboring Kasaragod district by providing quality education.
