As the saying goes, so does education works to make our children confident and independent.

There are many methods in Education one of them being the Montessori method.

The Montessori Method was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952)  an Italian Physician and educator. She was greatly influenced by the work of great philosophers who emphasized on sensory exploration and manipulatives.

Her philosophy of education that bears her name has become a very popular method in many public and private schools globally.

She believed in scientific education which were based on science and modified to improve an individual.

Gone are the days where kids were completely dependent on adults and felt insecure to do things by themselves. All thanks to Dr. Maria Montessori who opened a new window towards self confidence and discipline in children.

The Montessori method specializes in five areas of development:

  1. Practical life
  2. Sensorial
  3. Language
  4. Mathematics
  5. Culture

One of the major advantages of Montessori Education is that it makes a child feel independent which in turn also makes him confident and able in all that he does.

The Montessori atmosphere gives a child a homely feeling with less pressure to work and learn. The children actively participate with focus in all that they do.

Children with the age of 21/2 yrs enjoy working as the older children are role models and mentors to them. There is an atmosphere of respect, kindness and love.

A child is curious to know and understand each subject and the Montessori method provides an internal satisfaction for this interest and curiosity which then results in joyous learning. This is one of the top most benefits of Montessori Education.

Self correction and self assessment is also an integral part of the Montessori classroom approach. Children recognize, correct and learn from their mistakes.
